A Rowdy and Impassioned Wedding at Acre Baja

A sweet and wild wedding tucked into an oasis within the foothills of San Jose Del Cabo.

Acre Baja is a lush boutique hotel in San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico. On its twenty five acres sits an organic farm, luxury treehouses, an award winning restaurant, and an event space that will make your jaw drop… Seriously, though - you will literally have to pick your jaw up off the floor.

Our bride and groom, Serena and Ian are both tv producers living and working in the heartbeat of Los Angeles. Their friends and family kept referring to them as the sexiest couple they knew and we would have to agree - Their passion for each other poured into their wedding planning and Acre Baja couldn’t have been a more fitting venue for them.

For us, we had been dreaming of shooting at this venue because we knew it offered so many photographic opportunities; natural light, contemporary design, hand crafted tiles, cacti, peacocks… and it just keeps getting better from there. Each treehouse is tucked into its own private oasis and snuggled up to the palm trees. Its flooded with natural light providing a beautiful space for you to get ready for your wedding. The ceremony site is an open space giving you room to bring your own creativity to your event. Have your cocktail hour at the pool, our bride and groom did. The geometric tiles surrounding the pool are to die for. Move your guests to the mango orchard for a dinner you cannot wait to get your hands on. The farm to table food served at Acre Baja might just exceed the venue itself. Italian lights are strung between the mango trees giving you the romantic feel that every wedding reception should have. As the sun goes down and your dinner comes to an end and your guests are full of hand crafted cocktails from the Acre bar they will be ready to turn that mango orchard into the wildest dance party of your life… at least that what happened for our bride and groom.

Serena and Ian both got ready in their own treehouses. Delicious snacks laid out on the bed, friends and family coming and going from each space. Serena slipped into her dress on her treehouse balcony while her loving group of girlfriends helped her. For their first look we tucked Ian into one of the thick foliage laced paths to wait for Serena while his mother and Serena’s mother stood there waiting to see his reaction to seeing his future bride in her dress for the first time. Everyone broke down in tears when Serena came walking down that path.

Guests were welcomed with cocktails and peacocks as they entered the ceremony site. Ian was already so emotional when he came down the aisle to wait for his bride. It was so beautiful to see how proud and emotional all of their guests were during their ceremony. It was so apparent how supported and loved their union was.

Cocktails flowed and we moved to the reception for what would become a reception to outdo all other receptions. Every single guest was on the dance floor and the lighting was incredible We don’t know if every single person out there went to some sort of professional dancing school but we’ve never seen so much energy on a dance floor. Incredible.
